Robyn Creswell is Associate Professor of Comparative Literature at Yale and the author of City of Beginnings: Poetic Modernism in Beirut (Princeton University Press, 2019). His essays and reviews have appeared in Critical Inquiry, The New Yorker, The New York Review of Books, and The Nation. He is the translator of Abdelfattah Kilito’s The Tongue of Adam and The Clash of Images, as well as Sonallah Ibrahim’s That Smell, and Notes from Prison (all published by New Directions). He is a former poetry editor of The Paris Review and currently a poetry editor at-large for Farrar, Straus, and Giroux book publishers.
