Ruvik (Reuven) Rosenthal (PhD) is an Israeli writer and linguist, expert in Modern Hebrew. Rosenthal writes a weekly column on language since 1997, published in the daily Maariv and now in his site, The Language Arena. Rosenthal Published 18 books, Including dictionaries, children books, documentaries and essays. Rosenthal is the winner of the Sokolov award for Journalism, 2004, for his linguistic activity; the Ramat Gan award for children books, 2012; and the Ariel prize for creativity in Hebrew language, 2014. Google site for the Hebrew Year 2011 mentions Rosenthal as a leading figure in Modern Hebrew. Rosenthal’s PhD dissertation is an overall research of the Israeli military language.
