The year is 651. A Miller is condemned to death for the apparent murder of Persian Emperor Yazdgerd III. The Miller’s wife and daughter offer wildly conflicting accounts of what transpired in an effort to confound his accusers and save his life. Death of Yazdgerd celebrates the rich storytelling tradition of Iran, and questions the nature of justice in a world where history is told only by the victors.
